SANTO DOMINGO.-Former President Leonel Fernández continues to be the leader of a large segment of the Dominican Liberation Party, assured today Dr. Roberto Rosario, senior leader of the People’s Force.
Rosario was interviewed on Hoy Mismo Super 7 about the confession of former president Danilo Medina that 35 percent of the peledeistas would vote for Leonel Fernández.
He said that the leader of the People’s Force will lead a large opposition front to defeat the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party.
He recalled that before the polls gave the PRM the winner in the first round, but now those same polls establish a second round and that Dr. Fernández appears with thirty percent and President Luis Abinader with 47 percent.
“A large segment of the PLD continues to see Leonel Fernández as its leader and another segment says they would vote for him,” Roberto Rosario said.
He said that even within the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party, many who will not vote for President Abinader would vote for the leader of the Fuerza del Pueblo, Leonel Fernández.
