“It is the first direct flight between Santo Domingo and Rhode Island. It is the second destination the airline SkyHigh offers to the US.”
Dominicans residing in Rhode Island have three direct weekly flights to Las Américas International Airport as of this Monday, May 15, after the airline SkyHigh inaugurated this new route.
With this direct flight to the T.F. Green, SkyHigh, which has been in operation for 12 years, becomes the first and only Dominican airline with non-stop trips to this state of the United States.
The flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, departing at 10:00 in the morning from the DR, while the departures from Providence will be at 2:45 in the afternoon.
This is the second destination that the airline offers to the United States. The first is to Miami, where they operate two flights a day.
Cesarina Beauchamp, a SkyHigh executive, was present on the inaugural flight and indicated that the promotional offer of $499 roundtrip includes passengers a carry-on bag and a 50-pound hold baggage.
“Now the Providence community and nearby areas such as Boston, Lawrence, Connecticut and other areas will have access to a direct flight between both destinations.”
Currently, SkyHigh travels to 21 destinations, including Bonaire, Saint Martin, Aruba, Martinique, Tortola, Guadeloupe, Caracas, and Venezuela, and is authorized to travel to 48 of the 50 United States.
