NEW YORK._ Dr. Yomare Polanco thanked his followers and the participants of a digital survey that positions him as the most prominent political leader of the diaspora in 2022 and the third in national leadership in the Dominican Republic, behind President Luis Abinader and former President Leonel Fernández.
The survey results, conducted from January 2 to 31, were released yesterday, Thursday, February 16, 2023.
Voters of the digital newspaper “El Pregonero,” edited by renowned journalist Kevin Faña, had the opportunity to choose who they considered the most influential and prominent figures in the Dominican Republic and abroad. Faña explained that the survey only allowed one vote for the postulates.
Polanco obtained 25%, Abinader 26%, and Leonel 29% of the votes in a close contest consolidating the support and international image of the prominent businessman, community activist, and social philanthropist in New Jersey.
Abel Martínez, the PLD’s presidential candidate, obtained 9%; the president of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Miguel Vargas, 3%; There was a triple tie between the mayoress of the PRM in the National District, Carolina Mejía, the general director of customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón and the deputy of La Fuerza del Pueblo (FP), Omar Fernández, son of former president Leonel Fernández who closed with 1 % of support.
Other politicians stayed at 0% by not getting any support.
Polanco thanked Faña and the editorial board of El Pregonero for having taken him into account to include him in the survey, saying that more than the satisfaction of his position, the place he obtained without having defined political aspirations, constitutes a challenge for his fight firmly denouncing the excesses in the 2020 Dominican elections abroad and the lawsuit that they maintain in the Federal Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against those involved in the conspiracy in which they took away the victory as a candidate for overseas deputy of the PLD.
“I want to thank everyone who voted for me in this important poll by El Pregonero, one of the most influential and credible digital media in the country,” added Polanco.
He said that his score reaffirms that public opinion continues to believe and have faith in his fight to achieve transparency and prevent further violations of the rights of the diaspora as occurred in the 2020 elections.
