SANTO DOMINGO.-The Emergency Operations Center (COE) clarified this Friday that the prohibitions on using spas in the provinces on green alert only cover rivers, not the beaches of those boundaries.

The provinces that are on green alert are San Pedro de Macorís, Santo Domingo, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez, Distrito Nacional, El Seibo, and Monte Plata Duarte. While Samaná, Hato Mayor, and Sánchez Ramírez are on yellow alert.

The agency indicated that the weather conditions remain dominated by the passage of a trough over the national territory.

Said troughs will cause clouds, downpours, electrical storms, and gusts of wind, which could cause flooding of rivers, streams, and ravines, as well as flash or urban floods, the COE indicated through its social networks.

From the COE, it is recommended that people not use spas (rivers) in the provinces under alert in the event of possible floods.
