After paying tribute to the founders of the Dominican nation and highlighting their courage, the diplomat stressed: “The Dominican Republic sees Canada as more than a partner, a friend, a strategic ally. Our shared commitment to democracy, human rights and the rule of law are the foundation of our bilateral relationship.”

Cohen thanked Canadian trading partners for trusting the Dominican Republic as a destination for their investments and strengthening trade between the two nations. Likewise, she pointed out that the Dominican legation in Ottawa continues to reaffirm the ties of friendship and brotherhood that unite the Caribbean and Canada.

The blessing of the activity was in charge of the Apostolic Nuncio, H.E. Most Reverend Ivan Jurkovic, followed by Rabbi Idan Scher and David Ironstand, Abishinabee Indian, in addition to the Dominican diplomat, the Honorable Soraya Martínez, member of Parliament, and Pamela O’Donnel, director for Central America, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic on behalf of the Canadian Foreign Ministry.
