Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) reported that only the pilot was traveling in the helicopter that crashed in the San Cristóbal province.
In a statement to the media, the IDAC confirmed that the helicopter took off in the morning from the Joaquín Balaguer International Airport in Higüero and was destined for Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
He said that the Aviation Accident Investigation Commission (CIAA), led by pilot General Emmanuel Soufront, began investigations into the accident in the Los Naranjos de Los Cacaos community, San Cristóbal province.
“According to the flight plan deposited, only the pilot captain was traveling in the helicopter,” the statement said.
The helicopter, which was destroyed, was a Bell 206, registration HI951.
They said four people were on board at the place where the aircraft fell.
