Santo Domingo, DR: 46.9% of the population would like Luis Abinader, current President of the Republic and leader of the government Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), to win the 2024 presidential elections, 26.7% prefer Leonel Fernández, from Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) and 17.3% to Abel Martínez, of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).
The data in this regard were provided by a survey by the Gallup firm, conducted from April 1 to 5, sponsored by the communications group RCC Media. The same results were offered this Monday by the El Sol de la Tarde program, which is broadcast by the station Zol 196.5.
Although they do not have recognized parties, others that appear with results are Yadira Marte (0.1%) and Carlos Peña (0.1%).
For this survey, 1,200 face-to-face or face-to-face interviews were carried out in different regions of the country.
When asked which of the politicians would you never vote for? Leonel appears with 37.3%, Abinader with 26.6%, and Abel Martínez at 20.7%.
Regarding whether any of the current candidates could obtain more than half of the votes in May 2024 (that is, more than 50% of the total and therefore, the elections would be decided in the first round), 63.8% said yes, 30.5 % that no (none) and 5.6% said that they do not know or did not answer.
