Former President Hipólito Mejía stated that he is not surprised or worried about justice in the country because he has already gone through it.
“I am traumatized by the problems of justice, but we hope that it will happen. Nothing surprises me, nor do I worry about anything, because I have already gone through that,” said the former president when approached by journalists and questioned about his opinion of the country’s justice after the coercive measures imposed on those investigated in the case of Operation Squid.
Jokingly, he said there is no need to despair and that he should wait when asked if he considered that work against corruption is being carried out in the country.
