Juan Ariel Jiménez studied at Harvard between 2008 and 2010, where he completed a master’s degree in public administration in international development with the support of the Fulbright scholarship granted by the US government to outstanding students.
The former Minister of Economy, Juan Ariel Jiménez, was recently appointed as a tenured professor at Harvard University, where, in addition to teaching, he will carry out research and case studies and advise different countries on issues related to public policies.
His entrance to the Harvard University School of Government, of which he was also a student, occurred after participating in a rigorous selection process, which began in October last year and lasted until March 2023.
During that period, he conducted more than ten interviews and a technical presentation to the university’s teaching staff. Also, he passed the evaluation carried out by the said study center students.
During the evaluation day, Jiménez highlighted the importance of adding academic training and practical experience to design and implement public policies.
When asked about his current position in the vice presidency of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Jiménez expressed that he will combine academic commitments abroad with political work in the Dominican Republic, so he will continue developing the political tasks his party assigned him. Assigned, including directing the technical team for Abel Martínez’s candidacy.
In the same way, he expressed that he will continue to write for the newspaper Listín Diario and regularly participate in the opinion programs of the Dominican Republic media.
