Santo Domingo: The Public Ministry arrested this Thursday the mayor of La Romana, Tony Ademas, to serve a sentence issued against him after litigation with the sculptor Luis Castillo.
Adames was convicted in a legal proceeding that was brought against him after the lawsuit filed by the sculptor Luis Castillo to get him to pay for works he did for the Mayor’s Office, which were placed in La Romana Park, according to a statement from the Attorney General.
The sentence consists of two years in prison and the payment of 4.5 million pesos in compensation in favor of Castillo.

On December 28, the Supreme Court of Justice rejected the appeal filed by the defendant, thus ratifying the sentence against him.
