DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.- “Let’s see. They will know soon”, the former president of the Republic, Danilo Medina, limited himself to saying, when asked if the Dominican Liberation Party will run with allies in the 2024 elections.
Various leaders of the purple party have referred to the issue of alliances, some against and others, such as Domingo Contreras, in favor of their being carried out.
The candidate for the presidency for the PLD, Abel Martínez, assured last weekend that there will be no type of alliance “with those who allied themselves in 2020 to run over the people”, in reference to the People’s Force, which in that period formalized a municipal alliance with the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).
The term established by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) for the reservation of candidacies is five days before the start of the pre-campaign.
