Given the rain of criticism for and against the involvement of several officials and legislators in the most recent corruption case, Operation Coral, the director of Ethics and Government Integrity, Milagros Ortiz Bosch, indicated that they await responses to the recommendations presented; however, he assured that if he were being investigated, he would say goodbye to the institution he directs, so as not to contaminate the investigation processes of the Public Ministry.
Milagros Ortiz Bosch denied that justice is selective, considering that the institution she directs has taken the corresponding measures to resolve each case.
In this sense, the deputy for the People’s Force, Rubén Maldonado, affirmed that all the officials being investigated by the Public Ministry must have the same treatment as those who are not and assured that there is no member of the official party. Accused of corruption and has been sentenced.
Maldonado recalled that President Leonel Fernández was the only one interested in fighting corruption in the Dominican Republic.
