Santo Domingo, DR: The general secretary of the PLD of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Charlie Mariotti, described the dialogue called by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, as a waste of time for the signing of a great national pact and the defense of the national sovereignty over Haiti.
Charlie Mariotti said several meetings were held at the National Palace about Haiti last year, and “they wasted time” because an agreement was not reached to make decisions about the neighboring country.
“Zero hits, zero runs behind tables and months of conversations. They made us waste all the time in the world, and today, not a single result is displayed,” he said.
PLD WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN MEETINGS
Mariotti expressed that no representative of that opposition organization will attend the dialogue called by President Abinader, alleging that the responsibility for foreign and immigration policy is the responsibility of the Executive Branch.
«It corresponds to the President of the Republic to show solutions to the central theme of the meeting, which is “strengthening the sovereignty and situation of Haiti.”
