New York: The Press Department of the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in New York and all its diplomatic branches extend birthday wishes to Consul General Eligio Jáquez. The entire staff enthusiastically celebrated his birthday, demonstrating deep affection and admiration for a diplomat considered the best Dominican consul of all time in the Big Apple. I have always admired his dedication and commitment to serving the Dominican community in New York.
On behalf of Vice-Consuls Isaura Nivar, Iván Tolentino, Manolito Prince, Clara Elina Sosa, and Tamaris García Marcano, as well as assistant consuls Amintore Pérez, Ramona Almonte, Luribel de la Rosa, Elías Barreras Corporán, Rafael Santos, Henry Almonte Regalado, Ambiorix Hernández, Tomás Aybar, Clara Castillo, Mayra Peña, Rolando Machado, Susana Frías, Miguel A. Cohn (the latter being the Counselor for Commercial and Investment Affairs of the Consulate), and the dedicated service-oriented friend David Vargas, Lieutenant Colonel of the Police and head of consulate security in New York.
Since Consul Jáquez’s arrival, the Dominican community in the tri-state area has changed its perception of the consulate from bureaucratic to a place resembling the National Palace in NY. Dominicans now turn to it regularly for assistance, document updates, and efficient consular services, influenced by technological automation and a highly trained staff.
Eligio Jáquez is an executive who rises with the morning sun, arriving at his office very early. Before the workday begins, he initiates his agenda and, in a disciplined manner, leads the singing of the Dominican National Anthem with the staff and members of the diaspora seeking services. An interlocutor then informs them of the various services and updates provided by the consulate and other Dominican state institutions within its premises, such as expedited document processing, digital services for the diaspora, and efficient customer service, in addition to services from INDEX, INTRANT, JCE, UASD, Customs, SENASA, State Land Titling, Electoral Superior Tribunal, National Housing Plan (HAPPY FAMILY), Social Policy Cabinet, etc.
