SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS.- The Permanent Attention Office of Santiago imposed six months of preventive detention on Police Corporal Alejandro Castro Cruz, accused of the death of the twelve-year-old Donelly Martínez during the Santiago carnival.

Judge Kimberly Tatis ordered Castro Cruz to be sent to the Special Operations headquarters in Manoguayabo, Santo Domingo Oeste.

The Public Ministry had required preventive detention of one year against the accused.

Martínez’s death occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, February 12, on Las Carreras avenue, a corner of Mella street, in the center of this city. The minor participated together with his father and other relatives in the festivities of the warms of the Santiago Carnival 2023.
