On Tuesday, the report to disqualify Díaz Munago and thus remove him from Congress did not reach the minimum 66 votes for its approval (because it is a constitutional accusation). On that occasion, 22 legislators helped the parliamentarian: 21 voted in abstention and one against.

Until the last moment, Díaz tried to avoid the sanction, and for this, he obtained the initial support of the legislator Heidy Juárez, former Minister of Women.

During the debate, Jorge Marticorena (Perú Bicentenario) anticipated that his abstention vote would change, but he considered the 10-year penalty exaggerated and proposed reducing it to 5 years, he indicated.
