Following a traffic check, a Downingtown kidnapping victim was found safe in Virginia, and her mother was detained

Pennsylvania’s: According to Pennsylvania state police, a young girl who had been missing since her mother kidnapped her in Downingtown earlier this week has been located safe.

The woman and child were discovered on Thursday morning following a traffic stop in McLean, Virginia, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

The youngster didn’t seem to be hurt, but Vanessa Gutshall, the child’s mother, is accused with kidnapping a minor, unlawfully holding a minor, endangering the welfare of children, and other offences.

At first, no one else was inside the car when police halted it.

A while later, they discovered the kid in the back seat, concealed by some blankets.

The 6-year-old was last seen around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, in the vicinity of East Ward Elementary School, which is located on the 400 block of Washington Avenue, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office and the Downingtown Police Department.

According to them, the child was there for a supervised contact with her 37-year-old biological mother that was mandated by the court and unrelated to school.
According to the authorities, the visit’s manager told police that the mother had left with the child.

A Tuesday evening Amber Alert was discontinued Thursday afternoon.

Gutshall is awaiting return to Chester County after being extradited.
