According to a news statement from Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems’ sector vice president and general manager Dough Young, the B-21 is the most innovative and technologically advanced military aircraft ever produced. The Raider “displays the commitment and expertise of the thousands of individuals working day in and day out to create this aircraft.”
The world’s most cutting-edge strike aircraft will be designed and built by Northrop, according to a contract signed in 2015.
Innovative manufacturing processes and ground-breaking stealth technology were used to create the B-21. The sixth-generation aircraft is “designed for missions in highly contested settings,” according to Northrop Corporate President Tom Jones.

According to Northrop’s website, the aircraft is intended to carry out long-range conventional and nuclear missions.

$203 billion, or around $2 billion for each aircraft, is the anticipated cost to develop, acquire, and operate 100 aircraft.

Six aircraft are now being built by the company in Palmdale, and the first B-21 is expected to fly sometime in 2023, pending the outcome of ground tests.
Only guests may attend the unveiling on Friday.
