Santo Domingo-. President Luis Abinader headed the National Council of the Judiciary session this Friday.
This meeting was to consider the objections to the applicants, presented by the regulations, three days after the list’s publication.
This information was offered by the legal consultant of the Executive Branch, Antoliano Peralta, during a press conference in the Ambassadors’ Hall of the National Palace.
He reported that in this session, five objections were presented against applicants, all rejected for lacking due foundation according to the regulations and the assessment of the Council.

In addition, the order and calendar of the scheduled public hearings was established :
The National Council of the Judiciary ordered, in compliance with article 27 of its Regulation 1-17, that following Monday, November 20, the order of the public hearings will be convened and published, which will be held on November 27 and 29. and December 1, 4, 6 and 7, 2023.

On November 27, the first batch of 16 applicants will be announced, following the alphabetical order of their surnames.
Another hearing will be held on Wednesday, November 29, to meet more applicants.
A public hearing for the interviews will be held on Monday, December 4; Wednesday, December 6 will be the next hearing, and Thursday, December 7, the last hearings for the interviews will be held.
According to the announced schedule, the National Council of the Judiciary will proceed with the inauguration of the five judges of the Constitutional Court, who must assume their positions after December 28.
