President Abinader inaugurates primary school in La Barranquilla, Santiago; investment exceeds RD 130 million.

Santiago, DR: The community of La Barranquilla in this province received from President Luis Abinader the new Isabel Rosalva Torres elementary school, built at a cost of more than 130 million pesos.

The educational center will benefit more than 800 students and will have 50 direct jobs. In addition, it is one more bet so that public education in the country is of the best possible quality.

“The new school model that the Dominican Republic is going to have will comply with the maxim that you have always heard me say: we will have the best possible education and, I would add, also the best facilities,” said the head of state.

Similarly, he recalled that these are the most productive investments that companies can make.
“The inalienable objective of my government is to improve the entire educational network of our country, dignifying its infrastructures and providing them with what is necessary at all times.”

The center has 28 classrooms, an infirmary, multipurpose rooms, tracks and green areas, among other areas.

On behalf of the Minister of Education, Vice Minister Francisco De Óleo said that these classrooms will serve to forge in each student professional skills at the service of society and the values ​​of being exemplary citizens.

While the Minister of Public Works indicated that works like these represent “one of the investments in infrastructure that any government can make” because they impact the transformation and social formation of citizens.

Present at the event were the Minister for Women, Mayra Jiménez; the president of the Senate, Eduardo Estrella; Governor Rosa Santos; the Administrative Vice Minister of the Presidency, Igor Rodríguez; and the deputy Francisco Díaz.
