Judge will decide this Tuesday whether to send Alexis Medina Sánchez and others involved in the Antipulpo case to trial.

Santo Domingo, DR: Judge Deiby Timoteo Peguero of the Seventh Investigative Court of the National District will decide this Tuesday if he will send the defendant Alexis Medina Sánchez and the others involved in the Antipulpo case to trial on the merits.
The magistrate will announce his decision at 10:00 in the morning, after he left the case in a state of ruling on January 23 and several defendants exhausted their turn.
The judge decided to reserve the ruling after concluding the Public Ministry, the lawyers of the Dominican State, constituted as a civil actor, the representatives of Edeeste, and the lawyers accused of acts of corruption.
During the hearing, prosecutors from the Special Prosecutor for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) asked the court to open a trial against all those involved in the Antipulpo case, except with what an agreement was reached.
While the lawyers of the Dominican State, through the Public Assets Recovery Team (ERPP), joined the petition of Peca while requesting the conservatory embargo for RD $ 23,903,465,542.00 in favor of the State.
While the defenses of all those accused of acts of corruption asked the court to reject the accusation of the public prosecutor and consequently issue an order of no grounds in their favor and revoke the coercive measures that have been issued against their clients.
In the case, Pepca asked the judge to sentence Francisco Pagán Rodríguez, former director of the eliminated Office of Supervisory Engineers of State Works (Oisoe), to five years in prison, with two suspended, as part of the abbreviated criminal trial within the preliminary stage of the famous case.
Likewise, they asked the court to sentence Juan Esteban Suriel Suazo to five years, two in prison, and three suspended. Lewin Ariel Castillo sentenced him to two years in suspended prison after the public prosecutor reached an agreement with the accused.
In the case, they also appear as Wacal Bernabé Méndez, José Dolores Santana, Domingo Santiago Muñoz, Aquiles Christopher, Fernando Rosa, Rafael Antonio Germosén, Wilfredo Hidalgo and Carmen Magalys Medina Sánchez.
