NEW YORK._ The president of the Fuerza del Pueblo party in the state of New York, engineer Carlos Feliz, highlighted the assessment expressed by businessman Pepín Corripio about the leadership of former president Leonel Fernández, affirming that the crisis will lead to the re-election of President Luis Abinader in the 2024 elections.
Happy, he said that Corripio’s pronouncement in support of Leonel during the former president’s participation with the Corripio Group was not wasted.
“This intervention, due to the prestige that Mr. Corripio and his group tacitly have, which endorsed doctor4r Fernández, comes at an important moment for the Dominican Republic,” added Feliz.
“The statements made by Pepín Corripio evidently give support to the candidacy of Dr. Leonel Fernández in such a way that a great goal is scored with the forceful support of this prominent family, which is the one that has most of the business in the country, and therefore, most of the private employment,” explained the president of FP.
He said that it is also necessary to highlight the participation and recognition of the communicators who, impartially, also recognized the great work that Leonel and his party, FP, do.
Feliz said this support makes Leonel’s candidacy a sure winner, ruling out the PLD’s candidacy because he understands Abel Martínez. However, he is a brilliant young man and does not enjoy the appreciation of the Dominican people electorally despite his good work.
“That party, the PLD, is part of the country’s history, but the valuation it had already plummeted and that is the reason why they discard Abel Martínez and the contest is visualized between Leonel and President Abinader, who does not end reach 40% and it will not reach it because the economy, crime and the execution of the Government in general terms, are going from bad to worse,” said Feliz.
He pointed out that the people trusted that with Abinader, the country would improve, but the problems are increasing, and they will ruin the government party (PRM). Dr. Leonel Fernández benefits from this; with his experience of three governments, great achievements, defects, and virtues have a high valuation of his candidacy and the enforceable ones in his governments.
“At this stage of the game, everything seems to indicate that the president of the republic in 2024 will be Dr. Leonel Fernández,” Feliz pointed out.
